Today I want to talk to you about testicular torsion in children. Stay with us.

Pain, swelling, and redness of the testicle, which we refer to as Acute Scrotum, are the main symptoms of testicular torsion.
This condition is usually seen between the ages of 10 to 20.
At this age range, boys tend to have more physical activity, and if there’s an anatomical abnormality in the testicle, it may lead to twisting or torsion of the testicle.

Testicular torsion is a urological emergency.
If the patient doesn’t see a urologist within the first 3 to 4 hours, and the testicle doesn’t return to its normal position, the testicular tissue will undergo necrosis (tissue death and blackening), and we will be forced to remove the testicle.

In that case, the person will have to live with only one testicle for the rest of their life.
